METAL GUARD® is a technology that works in mechanical systems lubricated with oils as well as greases. Its application leads to ionisation of lubricated surfaces, extending the range of functioning of the oil film to unprecedented limits.
METAL GUARD owes its extraordinary capabilities to technology based on the Advanced Oil Film formula. Through polarisation, the structure of the metal is coated, creating a very thin yet extremely durable protective layer that protects lubricated surfaces from damage, guaranteeing their proper functioning for a very long duration. Importantly, METAL GUARD acts on the metal, not the oil!
METAL GUARD places itself on the metal surface in a way that also sets it apart from other products. Where competitors use molybdenum disulphide, ceramics, PTFE, graphite or other chemicals applied to layers of lubricated metal, METAL GUARD uses a Maglev-like mechanism. Through an ultra-thin layer, no ‘thicker’ than a base oil or grease, an effect similar to two magnets with unipolar poles approaching and simultaneously pushing each other away is achieved.
The methods used to test the effectiveness of METAL GUARD are those used in tribology - the science of processes occurring in the moving contact of solids, the study of friction and the effective lubrication of moving components.
